| The primary role of the Sponsor-A-Kid (SAK)
Coordinator is to facilitate the introduction of new players in the hockey
program. The SAK Coordinator will use the following strategies to fulfill
the primary role.
• Ensure adequate funding is in place to operate the program.
• Distribution and collection of SAK applications. During an Executive
meeting, SAK applications will be review and approved.
• Maintain current gear inventory and purchase as necessary for
the program.
• Collect gear at the end of the season.
• Act as liaison with Registrar and Treasurer to ensure players
are registered and appropriate fees (if any) are paid.
• Possess supplies including Sponsor-A-Kid applications, Gear Inventory
(in hockey bags), Gear Inventory spreadsheet, PCYHA thank you cards, stamps,
and envelopes to facilitate job.
• Ensure that all sponsors receive a thank you letter from the organization
and from the sponsored player.
• Provide a written report at the season’s end detailing number
of players in the program and their names, retention rate of players from
past year, cost of the program to the organization, and benefits of the
program to the organization.
Organizationally, the Sponsor-A-Kid Coordinator will report to the President
of PCYHA. The President will act as a liaison for the Sponsor-A-Kid Coordinator
at executive and board meetings. It is not the duty of the Sponsor-A-Kid
Coordinator to attend executive and board meetings. The SAK Coordinator
is an appointed position by the President.
