Coaching Coordinator

The primary role of the Coaches’ Coordinator is to implement and follow a system of developing all coaches working in the PCYHA system. The Coordinator must implement the following strategies to fulfill the primary role.

• Promote teamwork among all coaches with emphasis on providing an enjoyable hockey experience for the families involved.
• Manage a coaches’ development through USA Hockey certified training programs, and ensure that coaches have the appropriate certifications.
• Continuously recruit new assistant coaches to be groomed for future head coaching positions.
• Ensure coaches promote sportsmanlike behavior among players, officials, parents, and other coaches.
• Ensure that all coaches and assistant coaches have been screened by the Wyoming Department of Family Services (WAHA) or the MAHA Screening Committee.
• Distribute and collect coaching applications.

Organizationally, the coordinator will report to the President of PCYHA. The President will act as a liaison for the Coordinator at executive and board meetings. It is not the duty of the Coaches’ Coordinator to attend executive and board meetings. The Coach Coordinator is an appointed position by the President.
