16.2

Personal hygiene

  • Team staff should emphasize to players the need for total Co-operation in all aspects concerning hygiene.
  • Stress to all players need for daily showers with soap.
  • Players should report all types of skin rashes to the Safety person immediately so that the proper referral can be obtained and the spread of such conditions minimized.
  • Players should wear clean clothes and be encourages to change underwear worn under protective equipment regularity.
  • Stress good foot hygiene which included washing, drying and the use of foot power.
  • Wash hands routinely.

Team hygiene

  • All equipment should be cleaned on a regular basis.
  • All equipment should be hung to dry after each practice or game.
  • Sweaters, socks and underwear should be washed after each practice and game.
  • Periodic spraying with equipment disinfecting spray is also recommended.
  • Ensure all players and staff have their own water bottles. Bottles should be labeled and washed after each practice or game.

In response to these recommendations Esporta has developed the only four stage water based cleaning and disinfecting system to remove bacteria, fungus and mold and additional contaminates like Ecoli and coliform. The removal of these harmful contaminates significantly reduces the chance of infection for the athlete.
